setting casing installation
Utilizing HYTOPS III unit, Offshore Energy Services has exceeded
the industry benchmark by running 20,284' of 13 3/8"
x 13 5/8" with a buoyed weight over 1.4 million (casing
string only).
1) The unit provided make-up of 20" casing, 6 5/8"
WT landing string and 5" inner cementing string with
primary 20" HXT tong.
2) This new technology application for Unocal on the
drill ship, "Discoverer Spirit" created a safer
and more efficient operation vs. conventional methods.
